This thread is all about D-Link ShareCenter 2-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure aka DNS-320L.

This NAS model was on sale during Sitec 2012 show for $89. I did not brought one as I already owned a DNS-320.

Kindly post all problems and issues regarding this NAS here.

I bought the 320L from Sitex, my first NAS. After 4 days of messing around with it, here are some issues that I experienced:

1)Slow transfer speed - may not be due to the NAS itself but many other factors, I know. Anyway I am using a Singtel 2Wire 5012NV router and I plugged in the ethernet cable into the 2nd port, is that a gigabit port? Took me around 8hrs to transfer 315gb from my PC, not sure if thats the norm

2)1 of the main reasons why I bought this was to stream movies and music when I'm outside, using my android phone. I used the Dlink app to access the NAS, but it does not support most video formats. Does anyone know how to open the file in another app (Moboplayer)? Apparently it is supposed to be able to do so, according to the listed features in Play store.

3)Unable to complete registration to set up mydlink account. The verification email never arrived, despite me using a different email, and emailing their technical support about it. Is myDlink the only way to access the files from another PC outside of home?

webdav protocol might work for points 2 and 3. I know some people use ipad apps that can link with the nas using webdav. (your point 2)?

as for point 3, I have managed to link a computer over the internet to read/write files on the nas itself using account login and setting permission in network share. Do note that you have to have registered for their free ddns since ISP assigns us dynamic ip (or unless you have a service for static ip) and have set up port forwarding correctly. There is a wizard on the nas for port forwarding.

WebDAV Setup

this helped me set up webdav after trial and error. You will need bitkinex as mentioned in that forum as that seems to be the only way to get it to work correctly.

Slow speed is due to your modem/router. Only your 1st port supports 1GBiT.

Hi All,

i also bought the 320L from Sitex and this is also my first using NAS. After about 1 week for trying and i still cant connect it.i'm using Singtel 2Wire 5012NV router.
I read the manual, its seem to be v simple to install and connect but i still cant.

i insert the harddisk then connect it to ethernet -Singtel 2Wire 5012NV router. Turn on the power and install sharecentre wizard from the CD given.

But when its come to select a device. I keep reflashing but no device is found.

Can anyone share me what went wrong?
I try turn on my firewall on my laptop and 2Wire 5012NV router but still cant find device. i try on my desktop also having the same problem.

Use the Storage Utility tool and see if it can detect the NAS. If you need to download this program, go to this site.

If still cannot, try connecting the NAS directing to your computer and set static address as 192.168.0.1 (NAS IP default to .32). If can ping then use web browser to access NAS UI.

bought mine from sitex @ $89. So far, I find the speed to be not-bad given the price of the NAS.

Here's my test result. (PC --> Router --> GB Switch --> 320L)

cyiRK.jpg

Not using any raid, using two 160GB HDD.

Setting up is not so straight forward but manageable. The sound from the fan of the NAS is a quite noticeable if you put it in your room, especially at night.

Other than that, @ $89 a pop, no complaints at all.

@mfbatzap, your test result is the fastest I have seen so far, what is the brand/model of router and switch you're using? And PC specs if you don't mind.
