Hi guys,

would like to check which NAS supports iMAC and MBP with high stability and consistency?

Planning to use it for home and light office work (office files, no photo/video editing)..

Been looking up different options (Synology/WD My Cloud/Seagte Central) but apparently the real time reviews by actual users differs too much..

Top priorities will be stability and consistency. Need to be able to access it anywhere (esp overseas due to work travels).

Appreciate the inputs and SICs.

Cheers :):)

I m using synology DS412+ currently.
By using DDNS, you are able to access your NAS anytime anywhere.

thanks for SIC

does it perform auto backups and auto updates (e.g. update file in iMAC, updated file gets copied to NAS, then i can access updated file elsewhere)?

when u do "Connect to server" at your finder.. you ARE working on the NAS directly.

autobackup can be set by plugging an external USB drive to the NAS.

Thanks for the explaination.. Not joking abt me being a noob.. :s13:

May I check e configuration is NAS connects to wifi, then plug an external HDD to NAS and it will auto backup itself?

The TM will auto backup to NAS or the external HDD?

Thanks

NAS --> Router / Switch --> laptop (wifi or LAN)

Synology has options for time machine. As for backing up, I have no idea.
