seriously, don't understand what you are trying to prove here.

1. you already have the answer
2. google if you need to instead of expecting to be spoon fed and giving names just because you are not being entertained.

5. CDM

7. NAS performance tester

the 1st 4 is used more in commecial, last few is more for hobbyist
it'll be good if you include all of them

i've tried if you copy files from network to pc and pc to network the read and write speeds might varies if have ssd hdd and mechanical hdd.

You might also want to benchmark the difference between buffer and unbuffered read and write. The test for unbuffered read/write, the data size used for the testing should be at least 2x the physical memory size.

I want to use an agreed / standardized / recognized testing method so that there will be no dispute on the results.

What he meant is how did you build your own NAS with Synology Hybrid Raid. Whereas I'm thinking why would anyone want to do that, DIY and then use SHR

Updated 3.1 Testing methods


This is Draft V0.2
Change Revision
- Updates in red & bold.
- Added performance test for RAID 1.
- For performance test 3 - 6: CIFS / CrystalDiskMark, NAS Performance Tester, run tests twice to ensure consistency.
