Hi guys,

I am looking to get myself a 2in1 laptop

Usage:
-For my part time course
-Ms office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
-Chrome
-Team viewer
-Steam streaming (hopefully can but not so important)

Basic requirements:
-Must be either convertible or detachable
-Small sized, 11" or smaller
-less than 1.5kg
-battery can last minimum 5 hours regular usage
-would be great if can charge using micro USB cable or USB c, I am not really sure but it seems that USB c is not universal when it comes to charging, basically I hope that the charging of the device can be done by using a power bank or simply a cable connecting to a standard USB port (if cannot nevermind)

Budget: up to 800

I currently have 2 models in mind
1) asus t101ha
2) Lenovo yogabook

Their ability to charge with micro USB really appeals to me, but t101ha specs is quite low and don't really like yoga book for the touch keyboard

Pros please help give some suggestions/ recommendations!

Hmm team viewer :zotto:
Are you intending to remote in to better specced PC far away?

Had a T100Chi, it’s a pretty good hybrid for the most part, but the lack of ram is evident.

Hence my concerns would be if you would be alright to not multi task that much - I.e. multiple (5 to 10) chrome tabs with Spotify and Words - works but may lag slightly.

Micro USB charging ports are a hit or miss imo. My percept of it is pretty negative for Asus. It broke just after a year is up. A quick online search of (T100 broken micro USB) does indicate similar sentiments on the potential point of failure.

While the versatility is there to tap on a common power adapter head, sometimes lower wattage adapters for phones may not work on it - not too sure on the exacts, but when plugged in, it will indicate that it is powered but not charging.

Yup I will mainly use this to run teamviewer and steam streaming from my home desktop which is on practically 24/7 anyways don't think such a tiny and cheap device can performđŸ˜…

If asus really break in a year then that is quite bad....

It broke for my case.. hence that is why I am slightly hesitant to recommend you to do so. However, things might have changed since then till now - so the choice would be yours to make.. :zotto:

Heh, as you mentioned that it’s fairly cheap, having it spoil after 1 year and getting another is still within the $800 that you are willing to spend now :s13:

Can consider a Surface if it is purely for school
