Need a cpu air cooler recommendation

I know the usual recommendation is cooler master hyper 212 evo but if I overclock the processor (i7 4790k), can it also work or what air cooler I need? Thanks in advanced

it will work.. hyper 212 is one of the better for the price range air cooler..

Theres also the cryorig h7 / h5..

Honestly it also depends on hw far u wanna oc and whether u are comfortable w the temps after u oc..

Recommend you to get a better air cooler if you want to push more clock speed out of your processor. Or better still go for watercooling option. 212 evo can overclock but don't think can push much clock speed.

u want oc with air cooler then noctua D15 or Cryorig R1 or super massive oens that would make ram clearance and casing closure a problem

so far best air cooling for overclocking gotta be Noctua NH-15 but it's huge, really huge that might risk not fitting a mid tower or no clearance for your rams. on par performance w some liquid cooling in the market. Price sitting around 85USD, so is cheaper than high end liquid cooling.

Nope. Cooler with fans is 165mm. F3 clearance at 160mm. Get smaller cooler like Cryorig H7.
