that actually happens to me for cs go in game, 299fps down to 180fps when firefight. if not would be constantly changing from 220-299fps. previously would be fixed at 298/299fps. The constant change in fps affects alot in game with lag.

what could be the problem ah

either driver problem or could be cpu problem also
my cpu old liao, will sometime jump to 100% usage
when cpu full load 100% it'll hang abit then go back to norm

can see from task manager

sometime doing a clean boot fixes stuff also
so just slowly try the solution 1 by 1 lo...

Damn piss off, I've seen youtubers recording / twitch streaming H1Z1 with i5 and a 760 gfx. It even works like 100 times smoother and constant fps than my system.

my vsync is always off? I can get huge fps, but it wouldn't maintain. Somewhat like queerquirks

yea man, totally sucks, still cant find out whats wrong. tried dust clearing with compressed air but no luck, not much dust also.
hopefully your reseat of the cpu helps! then i will try also, maybe add a cm storm cooler in to reduce my cpu temps

had experience with csgo with my current rig, was playing at 300fps 1080p, can maintain, but after awhile will spike to very low fps and then very high again (299 fps), after monitoring my cpu temp because the temp was too high couldnt remember guess was like 70+ degree. since then i jus cap my fps at lower since my monitor only 60hz

source engine like csgo, dota are much more cpu reliant, i seen alot cs go streamers with monster systems but also cant maintain the constant 299 fps so its alright

its not the cpu la. cpu 78 degs is ok. SB can hit 90 degs without throttling.
no harm reseating, but it won't solve the problem

I tried capping before but no use for me. Capped at 60/121/180/200 etc also got the slight lag effect. Its like playing on a laptop and going through smoke, got the sluggish feel
Disabled steam overlay, seen on steam forums and it helps quite a bit actually. now it doesnt appear as much.

ya twitchers also cant maintain, some even go as high as 500fps. the difference is even though theirs drop down from 500 to 300+, they don have the sluggish movement.

Hi guys,

I've reseat my cpu, cleaned all previous paste and reapplied new thermal paste. I used the cheap $5 CM Thermal Paste (White).
Also vacuum TONS of dust haha.

Earlier today, I've tried using PEA method on the much expensive $12 CM Thermal Paste (Bronze), the temp appears to be +5~15 much higher either idling or in games.

I took it out, cleaned again, and applied with the cheap white thermal paste, this time I used the spread method. The temp appears to be -5~6 cooler than the screenshot I've posted here.

I have yet to try in games, so I will proceed now and check it out.

I've google and found that the CPU proc itself might be faulty, as my room is always air conditioning, and if I were to really compare, I should be sitting at 20+ degree. But I'm still at 37~45+.
I suspect my CPU proc is faulty, never the less, motherboard could be the cause.

I will monitor this, and since I might be changing to 4930k anytime soon, I will update this thread if I still experiencing high temp and low FPS after changing.

Through the process, I also realize that my CPU temp is relatively high.
So I ran through quite a few forum, I found out that a h80i running at full speed should be at around 2200 +/- rpm pump speed, mine however, is currently running at 1400 +/- rpm.

I've stress test my gfx, it is working great, even o/c it to 1200mhz. The gfx runs great and never above 65~degree

I guess the CPU temp during gaming.. 75+ ~ 80~ is giving my system a hard time.

Looking to replace/changing system soon.

Or anyone have any alternate advise, way to pump h80i via adjust voltage?

try using AI suite to adjust the fan RPM.
