Need a new computer setup please help me to customize

My previous build is failing me
Current build
Ryzen 7 2700X
64GB DDR4 3000mhz rams 16gb x 4 hyperx
X470 gaming plus msi mobo
gtx 1080 gfx

using up like 70% cpu and 80%+ of my rams
and im still lagging badly!

Please recommend me a better build.
NO INTEL! not for gaming purposes purely work and work only.

should i upgrade to threadripper with mobo with 8 ram slots?
ryzen 3 series is out but i dont see series 3 threadripper anywhere Z.Z

What if i upgrade to 80GB/96GB rams will i see improvement running with threadripper 2950X or should i wait for the 3 series to come out. 2970/2990 is out of my budget

Why not get server grade CPU? For your usage ryzen 99 also cannot help you.

i thought threadripper 2950 is like x2 of my current specs, somemore i get to have 4 more ram slots and x2 threads and cores, wouldnt that decrease my current usage to 50%? how it works i also dont know i computer stupid

Bro your 3000mhz ram running at 2400mhz default speed btw ... need to go BIOS and turn on XMP 2.0

November got Ryzen 3950X 16core 32threads that you can use on your existing x470 gaming plus mobo (need update BIOS, and CPU can only run at stock coz your current mobo model vrms not capable enough for OCing this CPU), but still stuck at 64gb max ram capacity. Think you no choice have to go threadripper if you need >64gb ram.

But realistically speaking I think managing your CPU/Ram usage is the right answer here rather than a PC upgrade.

Look at chrome extensions like OneTab and The Great Suspender, it should help you a lot.

Chiu open so many tabs but how many tabs you see siol.
Just get some chrome apps to reduce your memory usage lar
Your ram is running at 1200 aka 2400mhz, your ram not running at full speed.
Also, faster ram lead to less ram usage.

Be realistic. Want the processing power and ram capacity of HEDT but don't want to pay for it?

If it's really for work the investment will justify itself.

I maxed out my 2990wx for a fortune with zero regrets. -->

yeah that could work

what you need to be careful of though, is induced demand.

you get more capacity, then you happily open even more tabs and that eats up all that capacity again.

so yeah, you do need to manage your usage.

i cant say for sure, but with so many tabs open, surely you gonna be having trouble with looking for tabs when you need them(i know i have this problem when i have as little as 30 tabs open)

Btw my chrome is not on 64 tabs,
Its just that i have Chrome,Chromium, Chrome Dev, Chrome canary, Beta, and each has like 10 tabs because i am managing ebay accounts. So in task manager it shows as 6x tabs under chrome alone.
If i have 60 tabs open how to find the page i also dont know
