[Need Advice] Computer randomly restarting itself

My computer has been randomly restarting itself, like 2-3 times a day with no apparent pattern.

At first, i thought it could be a memory/ram problem and went to do memory diagnostic but nothing came out.

It happened again, twice today. So i went to event log to try to find out what is wrong. I can't really understand any of it, and was wondering if anyone can tell what is causing the random restarts?

what memory diagnostic did u do?

did u do memtest? if no, run at least 10 times and if all pass then it's not ram.

next test ur HDD health status with HDtune or speedfan.

if both of these r ok then it might be ur PSU or ur cpu hit the safety temperature. If u overclock ur cpu then reset to stock speed 1st.

after auto reboot, can it go back to windows immediately?
if yes, then may not b overheat issue.

any torrent downloading at the background?
try don't run or start any thing, let the pc idle for hours to see if auto reboot also.

bhtan - I did the Windows Memory Diagnostic - ran it 10 times over on extended, no errors found. And I don't overclock my computer too~

Yo2020 - after reboot, yes immediately can go back windows and do things as per normal. no torrent or anything, i can just be using purely to surf net and it just restarts itself~

jtjt - tried my best to list what I know / can find out


Another thing I realise is that if I just don't switch off my computer and only do restarts (manually) to 'refresh' the comp, the auto-restart is a lot less frequent. But if I switch off the computer every night and on it the next day, it will almost always auto-restart within the first hour of booting up.

any idea what i should do next?

it might be ur psu faulty. try take out all PSU connection and plug it in again.

If the problem still persist. RMA or change a new psu ba.

Assuming u did scan ur hdd and it's still in good condition.

Seems like overheating issues.

Try downloading real temp and do a quick check on idle what is the temp.

should not be over heating issue. he say it occurs the most during cold start of the pc. If over night its more stable.

agree, frm experience, psu is usually the 1st component to fail.
