Need advice: Final year poly student.

Currently studying Business Studies in NP. Cumulative GPA is 3.63, agak agak will graduate with 3.5 GPA. Wants to study business course in local uni. But with 3.5, it is very hard. I found out that there's double degree program in NTU. Let's say i enter NTU engineering course, is it still possible for me to take up double degree with second major in business? In this way, we can work around the admission thingy and at the end of the day, i will still graduate with a degree in business and engineering. Is there anyone who tried this option before?

Friend, here's a few stuffs you need to know as you make it sound like getting and graudating with double degree is easy.

1) business diploma cant jump to enginnering side in uni ( there may be a chance if you grad a dip with merit )

2) i think you stand 0% chance of getting a double major in uni let along a double degree programme

3) university curriculum pace is much faster compared to polytechnic, it is not easy to get good grades due to competition with smart jc people, fts and bell curve

4) my advice is look at other programmes that nus ntu are offering for gpa along 3.5-3.6 . If you die die want business can consider SIT or SIM

The most pseudo business degree you can get into is probably economics in ntu/smu or info sys in smu with its surprisingly many business modules and the school as a whole encourages it's students to pick up a double major or at least a minor. Of course there are always sit and sim full time courses to consider.

1. There's a huge difference between 'double major' and 'double degree'. A double major is a single degree with two majors. A primary major and a secondary major. The second major is usually around 10 modules only. Whereas for the double degree, it would be much more. A double degree is also way more prestigious, so if you cant even get into the single degree course, your chances for the double degree course is zero.

2. That said, you can try getting into NTU Economics and then take a second major in business once you are in. The IGP for NTU econs is 3.71 whereas Business is 3.79. Its slightly easier to get into econs, but your GPA is still far from there if its only 3.5. SMU biz is also at 3.71.

3. You can try other alternatives like SIT or unisim.
