my recent family desktop died after 5 years. think the heatsink became faulty hence the system auto shutsdown after 5-60s on startup.

Looking at a low budget comp since its my family's PC and i dont really use it (only my parents/sis uses it) and they dont really need high end specs.

My rough idea would be

G2120 + Asrock B75P3 $194
Kingston 4gb 1600mhz $43
LeadTek GTX650 + FSP 300w bundle $175
Seagate 1TB $84
Samsung DVD $25
Win 7 Home premium $120
Some random case $40?

total $681

Any ideas this setup guys? if got abit more budget i was thinking of swapping the CPU with a i3 (3210 or 3220)

if they are not going to play any games you dont even need a graphics card

why not state the usage purpose?

typical use would be internet use, photo processing (lightrm + ps), movies,

other than that it serves as a guest comp for my friends when they come over for a game of dota etc (probably now bf3 as well if i get the graphics card)

A decent quality 400W should be fine, unless you intend to get upgrades in the future.
