Need advice for building a new pc

Hi everyone!

I am thinking of building a gaming pc with a budget of 1.5k. I will be using it to play games like BF4.
I browsed the forum and came up with a rough list of parts.

i5 4570 and ASRock B85 Killer
G Skill Rip Jaws-x 1600MHZ 8GB
Crucial M500 120 GB
Western D 1 TB Blue
Win 7

I am looking for something that will last for about 2-3 years before requiring an upgrade.
I do not need a monitor and ODD.
For the GPU I am currently looking at either GTX 760 or R9 280X.
1080p is preferred but not necessary.

280X. No need to think if you're playing BF4.
Your other parts look good.
Grab a Superflower HX600W and a casing you like and you're good to go.

Roy is right if youre on a budget go for 290. Most bang for buck. If you want more performance though go for 780.

Also be mindful of the heat + reliability issues with this gen of AMD cards

it wont so much affect other component but your card will throttle alot probably unless you get a good custom cooler and even so ive heard theres a reason ppl go full waterblocks

its ok la... most atx cases have enough airflow for it to cool down. Unless you going for itx cases i would say no to 290

Its fine lah -.-

The heat output on a single card with a custom cooler design is rated around 84deg. Wont hit 94 unless you have crossfire it.

Else a single card is fine.

A ATX chassis is fine with adequate amount of fans will go fine. As long as got air exhaust out is fine.

290 wont throttle if its on a single card playing game. Not unless you put 2 inside then may have an issue.

Yes this card also can get. Just take note of the 2 years warranty only.

But for a newly redesign heatsink i would not mind.

AMD cards are designed to operate at much higher temps

My 780 throttles at around 75 or so with artifacting i have to bring it under 70
