Need advice for current system build

All brand got their own problem. Msi Mortar is only red led, no rgb. I would go Asrock or Asus for colour neutral, unless black and red is your theme, then Gigabyte or MSI. For this list of choice, my priority in terms of reliability goes from Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, and finally MSI coz Mortar got few reported issue though it may not affect everyone.

Thanks. Was looking more for reliability and functionality. My preference was for the gigabyte but am surprised the Asus prime board seems to be recommended here.

Been using Asus for pretty long. While their software is not exactly the greatest, I encounter least hardware failure with them. Just my opinion.

ASUS Prime B350M-A is not the best look and no heatsink for vrm. A bit bummer but if you're using that board, your oc will not that high anyway. So can overlook this flaw.

You can go for the Gigabyte without problem, but I am not sure they solved the high vcore issue or not. Google a bit yourself to be sure as I didn't keep up with that issue.

I would only recommend the prime plus as thats the version with heatsink. I would stay away from current b350 gigabyte boards. Msi just go for the tomahawk or gaming series. Those can oc reasonably well.

For asrock, only get the ab350m/ab350 pro4 and gaming series.

Above are the ones which are reasonably good b350 boards with heatsinks and good oc

Actually I'm not aiming to overclock and looking at matx.

Abit sick of my current atx build so wanna slim it down with this ryzen build

My ram speed is 2133 with auto settings in bios but my ram is rated to run 3200 speed. Any idea how should I go about changing it to higher speed? Just apply XMP profile or have to manually key in the timing and speed? Thanks

If Intel, just activate the XMP profile and restart. For Ryzen, you might need to manually key in voltage, time and speed. Depending on different motherboard uefi.

i kena pump failure and leakage before, no it didnt scares me, but very troublesome to fix, went back to air cooler now. ezpz
