Thinking of getting a custom PC from Sim Lim, just curious are the fuwell and cybermind price lists a reliable gauge of price for the parts I want to purchase! Also I hear that if I go to tradepac I gotta know my stuff real well.

I'm looking to get this build as my budget is 1000-1300. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tVnMD8 Any idea what would be an appropriate price! Also, any suggestions!

Thank you!

Look at PC Themes too. I find Cybermind a bit ex, and Fuwell staff usually has attitude problem.

+1 on Fuwell staff having attitude problem. Refused to serve me one time and when I called while asking questions halfway he walk away.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Any idea which brands are good for rx480 8gb! Gigabyte, powercolor, asus, sapphire, msi, xfx (GTR)?

I hear powercolor and asus are not good
Gigabyte's cheap but i'll 4gb if I wana budget
Sapphire's high price and usually reliable but apparently heating is a problem
and xfx GTR is better than msi for that price range.

Nothing wrong with powercolor. They all use the same boards anyway and anyway quality is probably on powercolors than sapphires, I know that I had both powercolor and sapphire of the same generation minus the crazy editions of the GPUs themselves powercolor always demonstrates higher quality.
And 3 years warranty rather than 2.

Get XFX. :D

Had powercolor and Sapphire 7850, both died just after the warranty ends.

Hello DawnsTear, thank you so much for your professional advice!

I could only find the XFX Radeon RX480 OC 8gb at - $389 on lazada.
http://www.lazada.sg/xfx-radeon-rx-...-hardswap-graphics-card-10847248.html?rb=1560

Just wondering, I read online that XFX RX480 XXX performs worse than the GTR version. I'm looking to futureproof by going for 8GB. Is XXX much worse!

Are there cheaper case options, and PSU is 650W :O is 500W sufficient!

I will also purchase a Windows 10 OEM.

The performance difference is not notable at all. Only through benchmark numbers then you can see the difference.

Cheaper case get Tecware Edge ($69) via pc theme or lazada, up to you.

650W have better upgrade option in the future. And for that wattage, at less than 110 bucks is worth.

Other than powercolour, whichever cheapest will do hahaha.

It's all about luck to be honest. The reason I neglect powercolour because I saw quite a few user have problem with this brand. So far the most famous tends to be sapphire and xfx.

all i know is i won't buy the most expensive one. temps are just slightly different across brands. i understand xfx can easily mod the fan to led type. so tats a fun thing to consider

Wow haha i didn't know man. I don't intend on overclocking btw'

Gigabyte's a lot cheaper: $379
XFX: $435
MSI: $459
Sapphire: $445
Power color: $419

Would you advise to get Gigabyte then!!

I hope you know that the 8gb version have the same graphical prowess as the 4gb version. Having 8gb vram means you have more headroom for cache of graphical details. Games with heavy graphic details like modded skyrim se, modded fallout 4, crysis and gta V will benefit from this extra vram headroom while games like overwatch, csgo, dota will not be affected at all. So 8gb not necessarily mean more future-proof. It all depends on the games you play and the applications you will be running.

Also hope your monitor is 1080p 60hz. This card scale best at this resolution.

From Jayztwocents review, he mentioned that Gigabyte G1 Gaming version of the RX 480 has not very good thermal ventilation. His recommendation is the XFX GTR version. I would incline to his recommendation if your budget allow.
