Need advice/help for upgrading parts!

Hey guys, so basically I want to upgrade my pc. But honestly i dont know **** about anything and i bought my current desktop pre-built from acer almost 2 years back. Im planning to upgrade my motherboard and power supply. Also planning to buy a new case and a better cpu cooler(?). Looking to add ram and add a SSD also.

I need some reccomendations of what to buy and where? I tried researching on my own but im just burning my own brain. :') My reason to upgrade is I just want to have a better visualised desktop and my fans are noisy af.

Okay from what I've been told, my current ram is only compatible with the current motherboard as it's only factory made by Acer. Idk if this is true so i need somemore advices from pros.

My current desktop is the Acer Predator G3-710 and the specs are as follows:
Operating System:
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit

CPU:
- Intel Core i7 7700 @ 3.60GHz 76 °C
- Kaby Lake 14nm Technology

RAM:
- 16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1196MHz (17-17-17-39)

Motherboard:
- Acer Predator G3-710(KBL) (U3E1) 43 °C

Graphics:
- Acer KG271 A (1920x1080@144Hz)
- 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Sapphire/PCPartner) 49 °C

Storage:
- 238GB Hitachi HFS256G39TND-N210A (SATA (SSD)) 47 °C
- 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-21WN4A0 (SATA ) 50 °C
- HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GHD0N

Audio:
- Realtek High Definition Audio

Your current rig is good and any further upgrade to mb would means replacing your cpu to newer generations. With that cpu, I would just advise waiting for the new ryzen 3000 if you are looking for futher upgrade, the new ryzen is coming in july.

As for psu, you can buy EVGA G+ Gold 650w for $130 at newegg unless you willing to put more budget to get even better psu like platinum or higher.

As for ram compatibility, well, it might be true. We won't know unless you test it. Then again, if you did wait and upgrade to ryzen, your current ram will not be suitable for ryzen anymore since ryzen need high speed ram to perform.

You could get a cheap aircooler like hyper 212x off qoo10.

As for SSD, it depends on your upgraded mb since new gen mb has m.2 support, is a different kind of ssd, basically like a card which slot into your mb.

It would better if you give a budget range since everything done so far is blind recommendations.

Your present rig looks fine to me though a bigger SSD and better CPU cooler will be useful. Any other upgrade like changing the MB or 16GB to 32GB RAM will only bring incremental benefits.

It's not clear what you mean by "better visualized desktop". Something with higher resolution than 1920X1080 i.e. 1440p or 4K monitor? Your present GPU is more than adequate for 1920X1080.

Was thinking about it till a friend of mine say why not just upgrade the parts I want instead. I'm indecisive basically lol and I'm not in the right state of financial to actually build another new rig. Just asking for now as I may be able to upgrade the parts that's needed in a few months time?

The MB is in plain green PCB and the RAM probably does not have heatsinks either.

If you are looking at aesthetics, most of the fancy casings have tempered glass to showcase the internals. Your rig will probably look better with the existing black casing.

really depends on your preference though.

if you want very colourful lighting, that means RGB.

if you want simple monochrome kind, that means just white led lighting.

personally, i will change the stock motherboard away since that green is not aesthetically pleasing to me.

Yeah was thinking of changing MB to smth else anw and I guess I'm more to just simple monochrome kind.
