Hi all

Been years since i last bought a laptop. Just gave way recently and looking to buy a new laptop. Problem is i’m out of touch with the market since 4 years ago.

Was about to get a macbook pro (touch bar 13inch) until i took a pause. Been a window user my whole life but hate windows 10. Scared i will regret converting.

My usage is pretty much casual, but i dislike slow and laggy machines.

Is macbook pro worth buying over the likes of like xps13 and the higher end zenbook?

Thanks.

Budget wise not really - value for money a factor. No other requirement actually as I don’t use it for gaming or editing video/photos etc.

I feel Macs are normally not value for money since you are generally paying more. As you mentioned, your usage is casual. Therefore, I don't see how hard it is to use Windows. I've used Macs before, I personally I don't feel it is that different if you are just launching the web browser to surf the net, starting Office to do some work, etc.

Can go for Macbook Air instead (but soup specs to the max). The touch bar is a gimmick imho... just to look cool only. If you have been a windows user for v long and used to the mouse, you would realise you probably nvr even touch the touch bar...

That said, if you use touchscreen systems for v long (OTHER THAN YOUR SMARTPHONE) - then maybe Macbook pro okay lor.

Go down to apple store and spend 30 mins demoing a unit to get a feel. Will need to adjust but eventually can get used to it.

depending on your usage for your purchase, if you are only a casual user, you don't need a macbook pro
