Harlo,

Back in 2023 I built my own rig, deeds here, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wxNVDw

Right now the desktop will randomly not POST on boot, my CPU and DRAM debug LEDs will stay on when it happens, sometimes need to restart a few times, sometimes more than 20 times, its very random. Doesn't matter if EXPO is enabled or not, just tonight I tried to flash the latest bios via M-flash but I couldn't even boot into it after 20+ times, in the end resorted to using the flash bios button at the mobo IO. Even after flash the problem still persists. Tried single stick in all 4 slots, it still seems to be random.

I have tried leaving the desktop as it is for ~1 hour when it happens to see if it POSTs, but as of yesterday it does not. The desktop is unable to wake from sleep or restart since I built it. I initially thought this was due to the RAM, but after changing it out for a new set last year it is still happening.

Abit of history, during the assembling i dropped the cpu on the mobo pins, can see the photo here. back then did some hail-mary re-adjusting of the mobo pins, heres 2 photos i took earlier this year while troubleshooting the mobo, from the top looks fine but from an angle you can see the bent pins

At the time it was built I was actually running 4x8GB of 5200MT/CL38, back then the rig already had problems, BSODs and hangs specifically on Helldivers 2, cannot wake from sleep and cannot restart (only DRAM light will stay on when it happens). Decided to change to the current T-create expert 6000/CL30 RAM when the price droped to 150. I don't remember if the no POST issue was already there before I changed the RAM, but when the desktop does POST with the new RAM there isn't any BSODs/hangs during gaming or such. I believe its either the mobo or CPU, but don't have the means to test it.

Now the mobo prices going to go up liao, im comtemplating if i should take a gamble to change to a B850M board and see if it solves the issue, but would like your opinions on it

yeah probably should change mobo, especially if the bent pins can still be seen at an angle even after adjustment

Was at SLS yesterday most stores quoted 250 minimum for a Matx, 400 for the b850m equivalent of my current one.
Decided to go for the Amazon ASRock Challenger

Have tried repairing twice, once back when assembling the another time this year, but second time I couldn't do much as I didn't take the Mobo out of the case so couldn't see v clearly. Planning to try a third time when I replace it with the ASRock one. But all this is if the Mobo is the issue and amazon delivers :s22:

Hey I have a similar issue and it gets worse where it would not boot up at all.

Prior to that will have black screen where the gfx would shut down.

The culprit was the power supply and I have the same gx series (rma once from fx-750 to gx-750) and 2yrs later same issue.

I suspect it's the power supply is not resigned for atx 3.0 and giving unstable power which resulted in the random not booting .

Changed to a newer power supply which supports atx 3.0 and problem resolved.

Interesting, but ya my PSU isn't atx 3.0. Decided to go for Mobo first cause it was already damaged, but will KIV if it doesn't work

My random BSODs/hangs were with the old RAM I was using tho, the new ram so far haven't have any. Not sure if that is what you mean when you said black screen
