Thinking of getting a new gaming laptop at the it show. my current asus laptop has served me well for the past 4 years but i think it is time for a change. my budget is around 2k and I play games like skyrim, the arkham trilogy, battlefield on a regular basis.

Im a complete it noob but the asus g750jx looks very tempting. any advice for me?

Depends on the size of the screen you want. If you want a desktop replacement then the ASUS g750jx is the way to go. The cooling system on that thing is ridiculously good :D

If portability and battery life are crucial, avoid that cos the weight is pretty high and I'm quite sure it still lacks nvidia optimus. Otherwise I guess the rest of the laptop is fine.

Went to take a look at it today. the design looks extremely bulky and grandiose. price also above my budget.

At 2.2k with the gtx 770m i think its the best deal already. Otheres are way above your budget. even aftershock configured same as the asus price also far from being able to match.

Google for Lenovo Y510P.

Dual GT 750M in SLI (close to 765M performance). FULL HD resolution, matt carbon fibre pattern like exterior, sleek form factor and red backlit keyboard. Price listed is $1999 or 2099 but I think you should be able to get some discounts.

Recently IIRC, I saw someone selling this laptop BNIB for $1600ish in HWZ marketplace.

lol, i think he wants a 17" laptop. If not, msi ge 60 would be a superior choice to y510p. Price difference is like $200-300. Also, the gt755m sli sucks and has many problems along with it. People selling this BNIB either got it off malaysia ($3799 RM) or as a gift.
