Hey guys :)

Currently working as a web/graphic designer. Going to uni in about 4 months, continuing design work on the side, probably going overseas in 2015ish for about 2 years or so. Need help on deciding on a good laptop.

A few by asus caught my eye, I'm currently looking at:

1) ASUS UX32VD-R4041H
S$1.5k
13.3" FHD (1920 x 1080)
2YR Warranty
7 Hr Battery
i5-3337
4GBRAM(Max 10GB)
500GB + 24GB SSD
Win 8

2) ASUS S46CB-WX058H
S$1k
GT740 2GB DDR3
14" HD (1366 x 768)
2YR Warranty
DVDRW
5 Hr Battery
i5-3337
4GBRAM
500GB + 24GB SSD
Win 8

The UX32VD's 1080 FHD option and the 7 Hr battery are super sexy, but the price doesn't do it for me. S46CB is another option. It's $500 less, comes with a DVDRW, but there's no FHD and the battery's 5 hrs.

1) What do you guys think? 500 Bucks for FHD and longer battery life, but no DVD worth it?

2) Any alternative brands/similar laptops to recommend?
Here are my considerations:

1) Power - Needs to be able to run photoshop, indesign, illustrator, etc well.
2) Battery - Needs to last around 4 hours at least
3) Price - S$1k - S$1.3k

3) Should i just wait for new stuff to come out or price drops? Heard the Haswell's just rolling out..

Thanks!
