Need Advice on Graphics Performance

Hey guys

I am kinda bad with pc specs and I am wondering if you guys can help me out with this. I have a HP Pavillion Slimline with the specs below and right now most of the games I am running require me to have the lowest settings even games like left for dead 2. I am not exactly sure which is the main problem; is it the graphics cards or the processors. When i bought it few years ago, I remember the salesman told me that the specs were good enough to run Crysis but I was disappointed with it as it turned out quite badly.

Intel Core I5 CPU 650 @ 3.20 GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD5450

So the thing now is that is it possible for me to have my graphics card change even though this is not a custom-built pc?

possible, graphics card is just a plug in and play item, of course you need to connect the psu cord. before you upgrade check what is your power supply brand and the output

He may have to remove the PSU to see the specs since it's probably an OEM build with no brand markings.

You should know that all salesmen in SG are driven by commission, not honesty & good consumer advice. Be it PC, kitchen equipment, laptops, sofas, vacuum cleaners etc.

Even my old E6750 with 8800GT could run crysis @ 50+fps without AA on....

HD5450 is a low end graphic card, not recommended for decent gaming experience.

Please specific the version of the product, not all Pavilion Slimline are the same so that we got more info.

Yes, you still can change your graphic card but you have to check if
1) Distance of the expansion slot that is adjacent to the pci-e x16 slot is long enough for the desired card.
2) Anything blocking the second expansion slot that is below the pci-e x16 slot's expansion slot.
3) Your PSU has enough juice for the new card.

Alternative solution (if you don't want to change your graphics card)
Install the latest graphic card driver version and see if there is any improvement.

Yes please get Zotac GTX 750 1GB [Low Profile] if you can find them in SLS. Do consult with distro to see if they are willing to indent for you...
