Need advice on this new build

Hello all,

I'm planning to build a new PC (budget ~1.2-1.3k) in mid October. Primary use will be for gaming (Destiny2, League of legends) and watching shows, surfing.

All price are from dynacore pricelist
Mobo+CPU: I5 7500 + MSI H110i Pro AC ($403)
GPU: Zotac 1060 3gb mini (Bought for $300)
Case: Fractal design node 202 ($125)
PSU: Corsair SF450 ($149)
SSD: Samsung evo850 250gb (Bought for $120)
HDD: Hitachi 7200rpm 500gb ($69)
Ram: 1x8gb 2133mhz kingston valueram ($97)
CPU cooler: cryorig C7 ($53)

Should i go for Ryzen R5 instead of I5 7500?

I'm getting the Cryorig as i read the node 202 has poor venting. Getting node202 due to space constraint

I just built a node 202 this week. I suggest putting in at least 1 120mm chassis fan as Intake and choose a blower gpu. Me using the asus 1060 turbo 3gb card.

I would suggest that you skip the current generation of Intel CPUs as their new generation (Coffee Lake) will be released in October. It will have more cores and threads. And most probably require a new motherboard socket. Since you are building your PC in mid October, then it's better to wait and compare Coffee Lake's performance with Ryzen.

Yup will likely be putting a 120mm fan at GPU side. Are you using stock CPU cooler? Mind sharing your build?

I read that only the more ex Z370 ITX motherboards will only be out together with coffeelake in Oct. that's why i will be unlikely to get a coffeelake CPU. Only have enough budget to go for low end ITX boards

Sad le. I built a very similar build for a friend in march with such budget.

Zotac Mini 1060, Intel none 'k' i5-7500, 2x 4gb sticks of ram, same motherboard, cheaper psu due to full size and an intel 600p SSD.

Sad to know its already outdated. Hopefully still a capable machine...

Not worth doesn't mean the rig you built is not good. Given the choices and cost, a 6 core Ryzen 5 is a better investment than a 4 core i5. That's reality.

However, quad core still can run very well for at least 3 years. See how well dual core can still run nowadays? Plenty of laptop users still game with dual core machines without much hiccup. Give and take bro. Since it's built, just use it till it is dead or till it is no longer powerful enough for your usage.

Do not buy the Zotac 1060 3GB Mini, the thermal dissipation is poor, get something with a proper heatsink.
Get from Tradepac, much better prices than dynacore.

Don't recommend Tradepac straight. You haven't seen a newbie kena chop by Tradepac before?

If you suggest tradepac, please give a heads up for the buyer to do their research on their parts prices and alternatives to the parts they wanna buy in case tradepac chut them say "no stock"

I second this, never EVER recommend Tradepac blindly to new Builders without a hefty dose of warnings for them to do their research or be firm in asking shop to "borrow" stock from other shops.

Seen so many cases of Builders getting chopped (z270 mobo to h270 mobo at same price, strix to Zotac mini at same price* these are just 2 examples, I am sure others have faced similar or even worse experiences) all through the simple phrase, "no stock, this part can? Same performance" sometimes tactic chut a bit, "I give u $10 cheaper"

Ya sia, they everytime like to bundle slow selling things tgt as a lump sum, "ok la, i can discount and do for you a XXX gpu and value ram for 600". But when u split up and calculate individually, the XXX gpu is already worth 400 usual price and the value ram they charge 200 bucks...where got discount?

Either that they play into your fears and try upsell you components u absolutely dont need. Like a 700w power supply when you only planning to run a i5 non-k and a 1060

Everytime im at tradepac, always no shortage of newbies to get chop, so I tot everybody is recommending them there.

There's a reason PC Themes is the most recommended one here. Recommending Tradepac ALWAYS have heads up to any new patron who is not familiar with that shop. If say you got chop, even by not much, say same price as PCT, I'd rather get from PCT. Friendlier, good customer service, honest, 1-1 exchange within 7 days if you carefully unbox and put back if the stuff doesn't work. Non of those from Tradepac from experience.
