Need advice regarding RAM for Ryzen

I bought a 2200g with msi b350m gaming mobo, gpu is rx570

Is 2x8gb gskill ripjaws v 3000 ram overkill for this system? Bought the ram yesterday then today realise it seems way too high end for such a budget cpu and gpu.

Should i change it 2x4gb 2666? Or what other ram?

More intrigued on why you bought a APU + Dedicated GPU
Ryzen scales well to about 3000Mhz so I would recommend you keep it.

Because they don't sell 4 cores without APU, and it's cheap.

Plus it works as a backup so why not.

2200g 125-30=95
b350m gigabyte gaming 83-30=53
total 148 only

the cost of the ram 158-30=128
almost the same as the cpu combo
