My Thinkpad customised unit came with some problems though it arrived on 8th day without expedite.
- F fuction key not set correctly. Resolved over the phone.
- Wifi keep having error message, not internet detected and took a while to connect after boot up. Not resolved.
- The case look bloated on the side where SSD was installed.
- One of the hinge holding the screen looks too tight causing the corner to slight bend.
Seems like QC was not well run before the unit was released. Have not really using the unit to check if there other issues.
Technician escalated the case to have on site fix.

I am wondering will it be possible to bring it down to service ctr and request for thorough QC check. Really sian half having to go thru all these on the unit arrival. TIA

Sorry to hear about that.
Do you have pictures to share with regards to the bloated case and the hinge? From what you have described, this is unacceptable for a new laptop.

The Fn key is annoying :s13: always Fn + c ..

Since there is a ticket cut to get a technician down, it maybe better to get them down to resolve it first - its more personalised and you can ask questions 1:1. My experience with these techs know their stuffs.

With regards to going to the sv ctr, it would most probably be a send in. I believe the nearest sv ctr is at Funan

Lenovo Service Center (Funan)

The bloat is not visible to the eyes. Can feel by touch and bounce when I use it.

I see, looks to be some flex in the housing.
Let’s see what resolution can Lenovo do!
Mine (an old X250) has a certain amount as well without the internal battery (since it is hollow)

Yes. Hope they will have resolution for that. Battery time remaining also seems abnormal. 66% show 10hrs ++ remaining this min, few mins later left 2hrs ++ 65% where I am only on edge. That's only the 2nd charge.

Gotten my warranty on 3 years but not the battery. Not very confident the battery will last 3 years even I charge every 2 or 3 days. Now I wonder will my warranty be avoid if I will self change my battery before the 3yr laptop warranty.

:s13: I am on two batteries with est. 11 hours.

Thing about thinkpads is they are easily fixed. Parts are cheap although Batteries not so much.

One is internal , one is removable from the back.
This is the design of the older thinkpads .

Newer ones are all non-removable .
You cannot “do it “

Correct. It’s like one step towards fully integrated batteries and easily replaceable ones :s13:

Called also a power bridge
