need advice to build pc

hi all

im new in building pc, i wanna DIY a RGB gaming PC. can anyone help suggest a build?

my budget is about 1.8k to 2k for CPU only (is this too much?). my overall budget is about 3k including monitor (most probably 27inch which is sufficient for me), mouse and keyboard. i dont mind push up a bit of my budget if required.

i wish to have the CPU for gaming and all rounder (multi-task) but not workstation for editing and etc as i don't do that (more of daily usage).

so far i have only research into casing which i decide it's Cooler Master MasterBox MB530P.

i do not require full RGB, maybe just fan, cable ,additional stripes and radiator that has RGB.
i also prefer fan than water cooling

any kind souls can help suggest one PC?

Since u mostly gaming and web browsing only, should downgrade the processor and motherboard and leave more budget for gpu, like rtx 2070

agreed with Alexls. Get the Asrock B450m Pro4 or the Gigabyte B450m-DS3H.

with the tasks you are doing, a stock cooler is sufficient to be honest. unless you are looking to OC.

You don’t need a sound card as onboard’s good enough lest you’re an audiophile and honestly, better to get DAC/Amp combo than a soundcard.

Optical Drives aren’t really needed lest you have CDs that you still have to run like OS, Music etc.

i wanna invest something that can last me for the next 5 to 8 years at least hence i choose the current best ryden 7. and i like RGB/ARGB, hence i was deciding a RGB radiator which is better for next 5 to 8 years instead of stock cooler. i did look at hyper X 212, but there's no RGB for it. i got a bit of OCD, hence i prefer all the RGB/ARGB to be the same. with the above, it's about 1.6k without GFX liao.

i dont mind spending 600 to 800 more for gfx. for GFX, im waiting for 2060 which i believe is much value compare to 2070 and 2080. would it still overkill with the specs?

for MOBO, is Asrock B450m Pro4 or ASUS PRIME B450M-A better and value for money against ryzen 7 2700x?
i see that the asrock has argb header which i want, asus don't have haha but it doesn't matter i guess for me.
i was looking at Asus Tuf B450M-PLUS Gaming also. i also read that ASUS has lesser BIOS problem compare to asrock and msi.

headache ah... any other suggestion?

2600 good enough for streaming and light multi-tasking. Seriously, you don't really need a 2700X (but 8 cores is still better than 6).

Motherboard don't matter too much, I'd go for Asrock boards.

Also, you might want to look into using PCPartPicker for your parts list next time.

I'm looking for 27inch 144hz 1440p, budget about 600 to 800. Any recommendation?
Due to my table size, I'm unable to get 34 inch

I can't answer technical questions as I'm in the midst of waiting for my parts to arrive to and I'm a first time builder too.

Word of advice: once you know your parts and it is within your budget, just buy the part because if you don't, you will be like me where the thing I want to buy is sold out already

If u r gonna OC, then better to get x470 mobo. While b450 can oc, components may nt be designed to substain high clocks. Better off getting a mobo designed for oc or change cpu to 2700 or 2600. 6C is more than enough.

650w is more than enough for single gpu setup.

U may wanna chose other tower coolers then pair with rgb fans. Such as bequiet darkpro 4. Its tested to be quite good for tower coolers.

1x wd black 1tb maybe can buy 2tb hdd liao. Might as well just go for wd purp 2tb sua. If u play a lot of games, consider bumping up ssd to 500gb instead.

For $600-800 monitor, look at prism lazada.

just buy whatever you think is ok & within your budget.. you won't get good advise here.. really..
first you will get some1 said "overkill".. why you need this that.. bla bla bla..
then some will ask what game you play.. what monitor you using.. in "questioning" tone..
end up like you need to 'explain' your decision to them.. why should you? That's your $$.

Suggest for u to read up or watch YT first. Coz you also need to ownself do maintenance although it can be a yearly affair.
