Need Advice

i'm currently a year 1 life sci student at SP. and i just realise how bleak the future is for life sci degree holder in sg, so i'm probably not going to do a life sci degree.

so if i were to complete my dip, it would be 'wasted' in a sense that i would probably try to go a biz (ultimate aim now) or cs course in uni. so i was wondering if it would wiser to drop out and go for a biz dip nxt year
or drop out & go to JC
or complete the dip & just try to gt in? (kinda worried that if i do that i might not be able to get into a biz course since i'm from unrelated dip + the COP keep increasing & i would need to score higher than the COP)

not possible to switch course now right? (after 1 sem)

anyone can advice?. any help would be greatly appreciated!

firstly, with a life-sci degree doesn't mean die die only can do life-sci work.

2ndly, whatever dip u do u still need to achieve minimum 3.8ish to enter local ivy business. For cs will be much easier at minimum 3.6ish. A level you would need to have mostly As to enter bus and a mixture of B&Cs for cs.

I thought life sci was so in a few years back till my own brother join but drop out as he really cannot make it. really so bad now? then like tat his dropping out frompoly should not be a bad thing after all.

go talk to your course advisor. from what i know, year 1 can still change course.. just that since your course is unrelated, you might need to take extra modules, or wait for next intake. extra modules as in, take sem 2 modules with your classmate, then in year 2.1, take 1.1 modules. but some courses might be linked, in the sense that if you never complete micro econs in year 1, you cannot take macro in year 2.. so your macro econs will delay to 2.2 / year 3.

year 1 still early to "regret" so if wanna change course hurry change. but while life science future might be bleak, biz future is freaking competitive as well.

best to check with course advisor first, so that he can tell you if it's possible to switch course within your poly, or you have to wait for next poly intake period and re-apply.
