Wah which minsu was that? Intro leh. Im gng again in Nov.

Yep! Lucky to be able to catch the sunrise at hehuanshan as past 2-3 days has can't see sunrise. But it was super super super cold, do get minsu to provide winter wear or something thick if possible, jacket available on the tour bus may not be as good.

Going in November is better to bring your own winter wear.

Buy a good and warm long john suitable for up to 10 degree C, then add a hookie fleece sweater follow by a waterproof breathable jacket.

If you can afford GoreTex jacket and walking shoe/boot will be best.

Wear layers for clothing, gloves and socks.

for taroko, is it very tedious to get from place to place if not hiring driver? public transport to get to taroko alone seems tedious already though i know many have done it.

Hi all, I'm planning a 7 days trip to 3 days taipei and 4 days taichung on mid Oct 15 with my family(2A1C0 and in-laws. Few questions to ask:

1) is it adviseable to go from airport to taichung, and then straight go to SML?
yes but ur flight must early morning if not wont haf enough time

2) Or should i stay at taichung for 2 days, then proceed to SML for 1 night and another 1 night at Cingjing farm.
can stay cingjing for 1night but not sml. cos sml night time nothing much unless u r looking for some quiet night

3) last 3 days ,from Cingjing back to taipei.
yes

Based on the above schedule, is it too rush?
not very rush. still do-able but u need pte transport for cingjing n sml area

if you are going from hualien, there will be bus to taroko outside the train station, but u won't probably have time to go to many spots in taroko. there are also taxis outside the train station that you can engage after price negotiation.
