Need advise on gpu upgrade

Hi all,

I'm currently using the current system
AMD phenom 2 920
Msi dka790gx
4gb ram
Ati 4970 hd

Have only got a budget of about $400 so was thinking of just going for a gpu upgrade to support games like total war.

Would it make sense to get a higher end gpu and do the other upgrades at a later time, or will the old mobo+ ram combo bottleneck the gpu?

Your CPU will bottleneck the system. I suggest you save another $400, sell your current system and build a new rig.
