need advise on rig

my current rig went up and died on me.. built it almost 5 years ago, so i thought it might be a good time to change a new rig.
can the experts advise if a budget of $1K is enough to build a rig capable of playing all the modern games at 1080p@60fps?

i am looking at i5 skylake, a gtx1060 (i have a freesync capable monitor.. is AMD a better choice?), and is liquid cooling a better option than fans? i have monitor, keyboard and mouse already. only need 1 ssd for OS and software, i have other hdd for media already.
nowadays so many mobo.. see also blur already.

and also how do i keep dust out of my components? my current rig need to clean now and then.. is there any filter type thingy that i can install and only wash that to clean the case?

Since you have freesync, get amd card. The rx480 8gb out perform the gtx 1060 for games that utilize vulkan or dx12, while performing equally well for games utilizing dx11.

Reuse your chassis and use your windows 7 key for free upgrade to Windows 10. If that's not possible, Windows 10 at carousell/reddit is about 30-40 bucks. Google a bit you will be able to find it.

Your limited budget won't let you try water cooling. It's better than fan in term of cooling, letting you achieve higher overclocking but you won't be able to overclock in this build. Plus stock fan is good enough for locked processor.

Regarding your question on cleaning the rig, every rig need at least a 6 month maintenance cycle regardless how your chassis have dust filter or not. Even the dust resistant motherboard will still have dust in it, just lesser than others. The same for chassis. So keep a look out at your rig every few months to see it need cleaning or not. That's my two cents.

any particular reason to choose Asus? I bought their r9 280x and it gave me alot of problems. Not really trusting their things now.. and a 450W PSU is it enough to run AMD cards?
I thought AMD cards are very power hungry.. then still need to power other stuff also..

Power hungry compared to nvidia nia, not like it will consume all 450w from psu so worry not (if u really scared can do some math on the power draw from each component)

For brands is heng suay, if u dw asus got asrock boards for cheaper as well!

At a budget of 1K, you may as well wait and see what Zen offers since all SKUs come with an unlocked multiplier and mid range board with B350 or X/B/A300 chipset.
8C/16T Ryzen A2 revision chip is said to do 4.2-4.4GHz OC will probably set the baseline OC. So an additional 100-200Mhz on the 4C part shouldn't be too much of a stretch...
Price will be the largest unknown.

End of the day, either of these scenarios could happen:
1. Zen overpriced, skip it and continue to get a 6400/6500/7500.
2. Zen is competitively priced, when OC'd may give you performance that trails a 6600k at 6400-6500ish price (board + cpu)? If it plays out well, your GPU budget may be raised marginally.

Lastly don't forget the promised socket compatibility till 2020 which may make a mid term upgrade more cost effective because you don't have to replace the board...

Been using asus previously and currently for quite a while, don't see any problem as you can see from my spec on the right I'm using the same board. I won't buy their gpu only coz too expensive lol

According to guru3d site, minimum requirement is 450w and the fsp psu have 80+ certification so I believe it's enough. If worry go for their 550w for 10 bucks more.

RX series Polaris cards are not as notoriously power consuming as their previous series cards and seeing the review from YouTube, it's the best contender to the gtx 1060 cards. Temps and performance are both on par if not better especially at newer titles that uses dx12 or vulkan.

How much are you willing to fork out? Fractal design define mini c is my recommendation if your budget allow. Otherwise I would really suggest you re-use your chassis to save cost.

does this mean i can only have 1 chassis fan?

and H110 seems to not support PCI Express 3.0, but the ASUS website says it does? i am confused.

you can add in a fan hub or splitter to make up for the one connector, or just use molex.

I'm running my rig with 1 in (front) 1 out (top) and don't see any thermal at normal nor gaming usage. Both tap to molex spinning 100%. Air pressure is neutral for my case.

If you wanna control your airflow, put the output one on the mobo while input on molex. Prefer have positive air pressure into the case than negative to reduce dust.

since its only 3bucks difference between the 6500 and 7500.. i think i get 7500 better more future prove.
the asus h110 mobo still can use for kaby lake right? i mean since they sell as a set... hahah
asus product page only say 6th gen intel processor for the mobo..

Yes it can but need to flash the updated bios for mobo. Try to ask the shop to help you do.
