Just bought a Alien ware Aw17 for my son
When reach home found out back cover one screw missing.

Is it common for Dell, product deliver dated is July 2013 and their warranty start same date and not purchase date.

One more question, sorry I am rookie

Storage drive in specs is
750Gb + 64Gb mSata
But when check on device manager only showed 750GB drive? Please alight me if I am wrong....or is it integrated in one same drive?

Back screw missing, can send to warranty centre and ask. About the delivery date, that I am not sure.

The device manager is correct. the 64GB mSata is part of the 750GB .

Hmm you need to check if the Alienware M17 have additional drive bays or not.. From what I have researched, it seems like M17 have 2 drive bays.

So most probably can. Remember to get the 2.5' SSDs..

By adding a SSD as a 2nd storage drive, you have to choose whether which storage drive contains the OS.

The optimum choice would be to install the OS on the SSD, so booting up and etc are all much faster.

The original 750GB HDD can be used as a secondary drive to store data.

Hmm it is kinda troublesome.. have to reformat 750GB drive, install the OS on the new SSD etc.. Before reformatting, check if you have the serial number for your OS to be on the safe side. The serial number is required for re-installation of the OS on the SSD.

Any reputable shop in SLS should be able to do all the installation stuff and purchase of SSD. I have a pretty good experience at PC Themes at SLS. Other reputable shops there are Tradepac, Fuwell , Mediapro . There might be others which I might have forgotten.. And of course everyone have their own opinions haha.

haha look likes quite troublesome to hoot additional SSD into it, also mine still new and under warranty for 3 years.

Like that I will start plan to hoot a reasonable all rounder gaming/video desktop rigs with two or 3 monitors, budget $3k? is liquid cooling type possible within budget ?
personally I dun like go SLS, due to many horrible story......

$3k budget with liquid cooling and 3 monitor is possible if all three of your desired monitor cost $1k or less. Sim Lim Square is the best for custom desktop. Do research first and ask around before deciding to spend anything.

Most of the scam only happens at first and second floor which sells electronic gadgets, accessories, laptop, etc. Fourth floor onward sell mostly computer hardware. Never heard of any stories of scam from fourth floor onward.
