Hi all
I've currently got an Alienware m17x r3. It is the worst machine I have ever owned.

I'm looking to buy a 15" gaming laptop but it's extremely confusing trying to find ones that have the following specs. Here's what I'm looking for - hopefully someone can advise :)

900 series Nvidia GPU, ideally 970M.

16GB ram - I do a ton of photo work so need the extra RAM. Shipping with 8gb provided there are empty slots is fine.

Ideally, 256GB SSD or a decent size HDD + empty slot for my own SSD

I've had huge issues with the throttling and generally poor performance of the alienware so I am not interested in ever buying another piece of junk like this again. Otherwise, any other brand is fine provided it's reliable. I'd consider 14" if necessary and I would consider 17".... provided the weight is approx 3kg or lower.

If you can recommend a machine AND an indicative price/seller here in Singapore I would be very happy :)

Cheers guys

Thanks! Definitely interested in a local option I can view beforehand and has local support too.

Also, the GSS is now on, will see about getting the price down :)

It's a rebadged Clevo I think, but it looks like a decent spec and has the versatility I need.

Many thanks for the suggestion.

Does anyone know what model number the IPS FHD screen on the S15 is? I value the colour gamut and quality of the screen highly for photo/video work but need a decent response time for gaming.

So far the screens are my biggest concern. 4k would give me the quality I need for photos but has limitations within windows & for gaming. Yet the 1080p stock panel is poor and details about the IPS one are scarce.
