Been a long time since i last touch on the hardwares for pc building.:s13:
Need help on it.

Looking to build a pc with budget around 1.8k - 2k (monitor excluded, keyboard and mouse not required) to last for a few years..
Haven't decided on the monitor yet though..

- some gaming and image editing tasks
- Not intending to overclock
- Do not require window casings, preferably silent casings (fractal design/cooler master?) will ventilation be a problem?
- i7-7700 intel chip? (actually does K or not makes a big difference for non-oc motherboards?)
- Probably GTX 1070?
- A SSD for OS and games
- A HDD
- What motherboard is suitable?
- What PSU is recommended for the above?
- anything else required?

Thanks in advance guys!:D

Currently Lazada selling Dell U2417H for $288 before any CC discount if you are looking for a good deal. Do check whether it suits your needs first or not though

Fractal Design cases are mostly good quality.

- i7-7700 intel chip? (actually does K or not makes a big difference for non-oc motherboards?)

K only means that overclocking is enabled on that chip. If not overclocking, just get one without the K if you are going for Intel.

- What motherboard is suitable?

H110/B150/B250 mobo if not overclocking, Z270 mobo if overclocking

- What PSU is recommended for the above?

550W PSU should be sufficient. Get one from reputable brands such as Superflower, Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA. Do check for reviews for the individual PSU model as just because the manufacturer is reputable doesn't mean every PSU is good.

Monitor size depends on your own preferrence, see what feels comfortable for you. Personally, I'm using 24" and its just nice for me
:s13:

For mobo, its mostly just the reliability. But experience really depends on whether you unlucky or not. Buying from brands such as ASUS which are generally reputable doesn't mean mobo won't have parts that are spoilt.

For GPU, mostly the performance is about the same one. What is affected is mostly the cooling of the card and the aesthetics. Card like GTX 1060 3GB can cost anywhere from $275-$350+. The higher end ones generally have better cooling and aesthetics. Brand like zotac has 5-yr warranty compared to 3-yr of some other brands as well if you value that.

You can give it a try, its actually quite simple. You can follow the video. Good luck with building! Its better to build on your own and get the satisfaction from building it.

If I get Dell U2417H monitor, will gtx1070 be overkill? Or should I get gtx1060 instead?

If wanna save more, look for techdeals at qoo10. They do sell fractal đesign and phanteks cases. Although there is no self collection option, but one can make use of qoo10 discount structure to go lower than the discount structure in lazada.

Just wondering, for those SATA cables and all, do we have to get them separately or does it come with the casing?

One more question, is it required to register the warranties? How do you guys go about doing it?

Just keep the receipt well. The distributor will acknowledge it if you were to rma it. Other than stuff like zotac gpu extended warranty and cryorig cpu cooler extended warranty, those need to register yourself from their own website.
