Singapore (Any) - Ketapang (KTG)

Hi all, need to send my helper back to Indonesia surf all the budget airline website but i couldn't find Ketapang (KTG), called the maid agency for help but they ask me to call them on Monday.

A few questions i need to ask

  • Found a 3rd party website called kiwi can it be trusted?
  • From kiwi it mentions there's whole duration sum up to 17hrs for a budget is it normal?
  • Every transit my helper need to download boarding pass? since i'm not her during her 2nd transit how can she download the pass? or i'm able to download all 3 boarding pass for her before she departure?

Sry for all the noob questions, i never been oversea before so i clueless on what i should do or expect.

TIA.

[*] Found a 3rd party website called kiwi can it be trusted?

Replied: I don't know. I never use before.

[*]From kiwi it mentions there's whole duration sum up to 17hrs for a budget is it normal?

Replied: Yes, it's normal. 17 hours is the entire duration from departure (first) airport to arrival (last) airport. In-between there is a layover (it could be in transit, could be via additional flights or could be short commute between airports via land transfer.

I'm on a slow mobile internet I roughly made a search on kiwi.com and peeked through. From the kiwi.com search, I saw a total of 3 flights, click on the expand button, you will see she needs to do a self-transfer herself.

[*]Every transit my helper need to download boarding pass? since i'm not her during her 2nd transit how can she download the pass? or i'm able to download all 3 boarding pass for her before she departure?

Replied: Boarding passes are given upon check-in counters operated by staff, self-service check-in counters, internet check-in via website or mobile phone application 24/48 hours if there is any before the departure time.

You should use print hardcopies of the receipt/confirmation and itinerary e-mail purchased on kiwi.com, or different airlines' itinerary after purchased and pass the printed hardcopies to her.

All her flights are on different airline companies without any alliance so I doubt the first airline would be able to check her luggages through to the last flight.

Teach/instruct her to collect her luggages at the arrival hall/airport, and then make her way to departure area/airport to recheck-in again for the 2nd leg and 3rd leg flights.

Have you asked your maid how she got to Singapore? Have you looked at the map or Google to see where Petapang is? There are other ways of getting to a destination if flying is not the most convenient form of transport.

How would you go to JB? Fly to KL transit then fly from KL to JB? Or take a bus from Singapore to JB?

It is only an example. Not telling you to get your maid a bus from Singapore to Petapang. Look into various options.

Basically she has to get to Pontianak first, either from KL or Kuching by Air Asia. From Singapore to Kuching or KL, there are many options you can manage for her. For the flight to KL, make sure the destination is KLIA2 (easier if it is Air Asia from Changi) so there is no need to transfer terminals. Is her hometown really Ketapang or somewhere in that province? Getting her to Pontianak may be good enough, since there will possibly be buses from Pontianak to her hometown. If she has to reach Ketapang city, she can fly from Pontianak.
