Hi guys,

As topic states, I need help with building a gaming rig. Usage will be for Dota 2, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2 and some PS2 emulation. I will need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers as well. Hoping to get one that will last for at least 2 years or so. I would also prefer a quieter desktop; don't want it to be too loud. My budget is around 1k - 1.5k ish, with peripherals I don't mind paying a bit more than 1.5k if needed.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for the recommendations!

Just curious, is there a cost for getting it assembled at tradepac?

Around $30 or so. but you are better off doing it yourself. Coz they make kope small items here and there.

Also, by doing it urself, you get to know ur pc better. Macham like getting to know your gf better.

Do I need any special tools to assemble it?

Pair of hand + screw driver ..

Okay I'll see how it goes. Thanks!

I read in some other threads that the current batch of superflower hx psu in Singapore has a coil whine issue. Will the Seasonic G650 550w/650w be a better alternative?

Also, how does the palit gtx760 compare with the asus/msi nvidia gx760?

Remember to install brass standoff spacers in the casing before you mount your mobo. Welly important.

Maybe you need a little plier or hex wrench to turn and screw them.

Not worth it. It is priced at $400. With that money one could buy a r9 280x turbo duo which is a 770 standards.

Hmm ok so if I was to want a 760 standard one, the palit gtx760 that you quoted would be best for price:performance?

How did you align your mobo with the backplate? :s11:
