Hi experts i need some help to build a gaming mini-ITX desktop due to very limited space. Purpose of the desktop is for some light gaming like DOTA 2, watching movies etc. My budget is around 1.2k-1.5k. Would require OS, Monitor, Wireless keyboard and mouse as well as speakers.

Thanks !

Results: CPU Benchmarks - Dota 2 Performance, Benchmarked

Benchmark for dota2. See that i5 and i3 performance is the same. You can upgrade and if you want to, upgrade both CPU and GPU. An i5 4440 and amd r9 280x.

Since he's recommended a 750ti, might as well jump 2 levels will still meet his 1.5k budget

He give 1.5k, doesnt mean die die must meet it.. If 1.2k can settle his needs, then why not? For what spend extra $200-300 more just to get something overkilled for his games and to meet his max budget. Unless he wants to play AAA games...

At most go get better speakers, like Swans m10 or $100 Mech KB. Can get bigger ssd as well..

For most cases I see they have the new stuffs then want to try the other games. Then disappointed. Kb and speakers are subjective matters. And yes a bigger SSD is a good reco too.

There are some ppl who still like Dota2 and dun wanna plae BF4, watch dogs de... All depends on TS. If he wan tackle new gen games, 280x would be good. If he wanna stick to last last last gen games, den 750ti or max 760 will do.

Yup agreed much. Actually don't spend on gpu if sticking to just dota2 and LOL. A bigger ssd is more recommended.
