If you are gaming, get the Acer TravelMate P645 with Nvidia Geforce 840M. Much better than any Intel HD Graphics. The Asus and HP options only come with Intel HD Graphics, so the recommended choice is clear.

if weight is not an issue, the acer one is most worth.
if weight is an issue, i would think the asus one is better.

the hp one screen too small, only consider if you will be getting external monitor.

I'm thinking of getting the Asus with

"Upgrade to Touch Screen (LED Touch Display) with 750GB SATA HDD + 24GB SSD Hybrid and dedicated graphics Nvidia Geforce 840 2GB VRAM."

How does it match up with the Acer?

it will better than the acer one on the following:
it's a touch screen
hdd is larger

but it will not have dual band wireless but dun think it will be an issue.

with the ssd hybrid, it should be better than the normal hdd but if you really want fast bootup, better to go for pure ssd. you will never go back to hdd once you use ssd.

750GB SATA HDD + 24GB SSD How does this even works?

As compared to the original Hard Disk Drive 256GB SSD

The UX303 offers AC. The Acer is only a wireless N.
Doesn't matter whether is dual band or not because the UX303 will be getting the faster connection speed if your home supports AC.

AC is 5GHz and backwards compatible with wireless N (2.4GHz), hence automatically also a dual band.

That is a cache configuration. Applications that you frequently use, eg. during boot up, will be stored in the 24GB cache SSD so that when you need it, it gets booted up faster. You won't actually get to use the cache as storage.

See it as a electric motor that automatically kicks in when you need some help going up the hill.

If want to hoot the consumer grade ASUS UX303 might as well get from electronics stores with common configurations that comes with GT 840M (clearance stocks) / 940M for around $1300-1400.

of course if u want it easy, 3 years warranty with servicing in school, plus maybe bundled with other software like Microsoft Office, then u pay more to add all these in.

if u feel that these extras are unneeded and not worth paying for, then getting it outside may save u some money.

Major retailers like Harvey Norman, Courts, Best Denki, Challenger all offer extended warranty options for additional money, like need to pay $200 extra for up to max 3-5 year warranty.

Some laptop brands like HP and Acer also offer similar extended warranty options for a price. But u need to check if Asus offers such options.

Yeah, ASUS one can call their service centre (not Avertek/Ban Leong ar) hotline and check.

the school will be offering the UX303 LN-DQ315H.

I have went down to various electronics shops, they also offer the same UX303LN, just a different serial number behind. i.e UX303LN _____.

Are there any major differences between all these?

Yes they are different. You need to compare their specs.
