MSI Z87‐G45 GAMING + i5 4670k - $512
Noctua NH-U12s - $100
G‐SKILL RIPJAW‐X 16GB KIT 1866MHZ - $185
ASUS GTX770 2GB OC DDR5 - $655
Seagate 2TB hhd - $110
Fractal Design R4 - $169
CORSAIR AX760 - $249 (PC Themes price)
ASUS PCE‐AC66 - $139 (Estimated)
Altec Lansing BXR 1220 Speakers - $28

Total - $2147

(All prices from tradepac, other than those stated.)

Already have an 256GB OCZ vertex 4 ssd that I will be transferring over.
No need OS, dvd drive.

What do you guys think?
I'm getting the feeling that it is a bit too expensive...
Not sure if overclocking is worth it.
I can use ASUS H87M-E + i5 4670 without the CPU cooler and save $200.
The colour scheme of asus will be terrible though :p Red + black + yellow

Change psu to Seasonic x 650 shld have enough power le. Or a Seasonic m series will also be good enough to save a bit more.

Other than that, rig is fine bah. OC or not, up to u Loh.

U wanna use H or B boards, check if they support up to 1866mhz ram bah. I think some dont support.

If not OC-ing, then a 1600mhz ram is enough as well.

Then see if u play with VMs or not. If not OC-ing but playing VMs, can consider MSI B85 board. Think that can support up to 32GB of Ram.

Got bad experience with seasonic PSU before. Have an 5 years old PC that keep having "power failure error". Need switch on and off a few times before it can boot.

You are right about the RAM. If I don't OC, i might even get some kingston value RAM at 1600 MHz.

Main reason I like the rig is nice red/black combination :)
