Details - I need help in choosing some parts for a gaming pc thats able to run the current and upcoming game at max settings. Will be starting from scratch. I would like to able to run 2 monitors at one time (one for misc eg.email, forums, facebook and the other for gaming). I would want to be able to SLI in the future.

Current thoughts:

MB:??
PSU:??
GPU: ASUS GTX 970 (In future might buy another to SLI) - I prefer green camp only.
RAM:??
HDD: WD 1TB Blue
SSD: ??
Case: ??

Others: Win 7 needed,2 x monitors 27",Wifi Card

If possible i might want to be able to overclock

Budget: $1.5k - 2k and prefer to buy at PC Themes - might ask them to assemble

I dont think it is wise to go for 27inch 1080p display. It will look rather weird.

Mostl 23-24inch 1080p would be the best display and PPI.

1) Must your motherboard be Asus? There are far cheaper alternatives possible.

2) It would be a better idea to drop the idea of SLI as a proper SLI setup is not cheap and by the time you want to SLI, Nvidia may have already came out with the large die Maxwell GPU and rendering a SLIed GTX 970 setup obsolete. Not to mention that games may not have SLI support or have issues with SLI.

3) Would also be a good idea to drop the idea of OC. A decent OC setup with SLI support and 2 monitors is simply not doable under $2000, especially if using Asus mobos.

4) Name all 'current and upcoming' games that you have in mind.

5) State internet plan and router used.

If i drop the idea of SLI and OC but still prefer Asus or Asrock Mobo with 4690 no k processor instead what are my options. Case wise would a fractal design define R4 be a good option.

Games intended to play such as dragon age inq at max settings if possible.

Router wise using the standard singtel fiber 100mbps iirc

Thank you in advance

CPU+ Mobo: ASROCK B85M-PRO4 + i5 4460 (364)
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS-X 1600MHZ ( 4GBx2pcs ) CL9 (115)
GPU: ZOTAC GTX 970 4GB TWIN FAN (448)
SSD: CRUCIAL MX100 256GB (160)
HDD: WD 1TB BLUE (72)
DVD-RW: LG 24X DVD-RW SATA OEM (25)
PSU: SUPERFLOWER HX 600M (99)
Case: CORSAIR 200R (85)
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM (120)
Monitor: 2X DELL S2340L (398)
Networking: ASUS PCE-N15 (59)

Total cost: $1945

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) Due to budgetary restrictions,
-An i5 4460 is used instead
-A cheaper Zotac GTX 970 is used instead
-A cheaper Corsair 200R is used instead of the Fractal Design R4

2) This rig is still capable of playing Dragon Age: Inquisition smoothly at max settings in 1080p despite the cost cutting measures made to your rig.

3) If stocks of the Asrock B85 Killer are still avaliable, can consider this motherboard. Costs $379 with the i5 4460.

4) You did not state the model of the router that you are using. This wifi adapter does not have dual-band support. Do sound off if using a router with dual-band support.

5) Got Mastercard? Consider buying the SSD from lazada.com on a Monday and get 10% discounts when paying with a Mastercard. Do note that discounts are capped at $50 per transaction.
