Need help: GFX causing BSOD

Hi guys

My system(DIY PC) hang with many lines on LCD on Wednesday morning while I was playing WOW. Tried resit my 2 ram or put in 1 by 1 still same problem. after i took out my GFX(Powercolor HD7850 2GB) and tried resit afew times then problem resolved. Then at night when I came home and on my PC the problem surface again, then LL I took out my old GFX 5750 and problem resolve, even played game whole night no BSOD nothing. been using this 7850 for almost 1 year no problem. Then I took the 7850 to Ban Leong for RMA but did not encounter any lines/hang/BSOD when at the svr ctr. Done few diagnostic but could not find out the main cause.

1) 7850 got lines then BSOD after enter windows ONLY, so i took my 5750 and put in no problem. Tried reinstalling the drivers and tried with 3 HDD same problem, lines after enter windows and either hang with blue or orange pixel screen or BSOD.

2) Reformat 1 of the HDD and everything okay during the reinstallation, but only after I install the driver and restart com the problem came back again.

3) Tried enter safe mode with 7850 NO problem!!!!

4) The BSOD error code is 0XA0000001 and sometimes got .sys error. Thought it's software but after i tried to reformat 2 HDD and install windows in it same problem.....


What could be the main cause of the problem? PSU not enough power to support 7850? the PSU i believe got like 2-4 years old already. GFX?

Suspect not enough juice from the PSU.

What's your system specs? Especially the PSU.

How long have you been that 7850 before you have this problem?

What's the version of the drivers you are using?

Change with another working PSU and try again.
Try downclocking your GPU.

Hmm.. Does the BSOD happens when GPU is on load?

Like what the fellow forumers say, you have to test different component.

For now, you have to test your PSU and GPU.
You have to see whether the BSOD happens anytime, or only during load.

It happens after you load into the desktop then the lines happens. Right after the win7 logo join together then go into desktop the line came out. the funny thing is safe mode no porblem, I thought is software issue so i reformat using 2 HDD but same problem. I only have my 5750 and the HDD to test, no extra PSU,SBO or CPU to test. Might bring down later to SLS to test, got any shop to recommend? Thx alot bro

Either the 7850 or Andyson AD-F620A2-36 is the culprit.
