Hi everyone

I was charging my Galaxy s4 when all of a sudden, it just shows a black screen.
It was working well prior to this.

Removed the battery and put it back. No-go. Pressed the power button again and felt the vibration. The blue power light came on and the white light flashed. But still the Samsung word did not appear. But i think the phone is turned on already. Tried to charge the phone and the red power light came on. But nothing, nothing at all from the screen. Was charging it before this happened.

I am so helpless now, what should i do with the black screen?? Tried many attempts but still black screen...

1. Motherboard fried. Common issue with S4 due to the heating issue. Heat dispersal system not properly built resulting in motherboard being destroyed easily.
2. Lose cable. Open up s4, solder back.

Either way u will hv to make ur way to service centre and ask them. If ur not under warranty, will probably cost u 200 at least. Just my guess.

If they do quote u the price and ur not willing to pay tt much, go to mobile bazaar forum or smth to find those repairing cheap one.

Went to samsung service center at commonwealth one stop. You are right...fried motherboard. Paid 300 ++ technician repaired it within 2 hrs. Heartpain but no choice. Hopefully this heating issue will not happen again.

initially the counter people took my phone and check with the technician.
she came back saying is LCD problem i asked her how they know, she replied " technician mah" and at first for LCD is only 239 dollars for repair. then she took out my screen protector and say technician if repair LCD also have to remove SP.

while i was waiting she called out to me, she say technician say is motherboard problem and price for repair is 300++ and ask me if ok to proceed. i say ok proceed but they already remove my SP. now i got no SP. can i claim the cost of SP from them?? its expensive you know even SP...
