hi all... my pc has been giving me problems recently... it will somehow hang during usage (can be while surfing or watching videos). when it hangs, even ctrl + alt + del doesnt help. only a hard reboot does.

usually after that, i may encounter one of the following scenarios:
1. "non system disk error" (can be "solved" by turning off pc, turning off switch, wait for a while, and after that it manages to boot up as per normal again :s11:)
2. fail to get pass bios, auto power off whole pc and retry to start all over again. (forever loop)

i initially suspected that it's the ram. so i did a memtest. however, the results did not show any problems.

can it be caused by motherboard? or PSU?

my setup are as follows:
Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 & Gigabyte EP43-UD3L
Kingston ValueRam PC2-6400 DDR2-800 4GB (2X2GB)
PowerColor HD4850
Intel 320 series 160gb SSD
WD Black 2 TB
WD Green 1.5 TB
LG SATA 22X DVD Rewriter
Andyson 480W

anyone able to advise?

Try troubleshoot the PSU first. Get a spare PSU and attach to the system. If it can power up without problems, then you can confirm the PSU is faulty.
