Btw my budget is around 1.8k

Monitor: ASUS VS248H 24”
SSD: SAMSUNG evo ssd 120gb
HDD: Western Digital 1TB Blue 64MB SATA3
DDR3 Memory Card: AVEXIR Core 1866C9 (16GB=2x8GB) blue led
OS: Windows 8 Home Premium OEM 64bit
CDROM drive: Samsung 24x DVD-RW SATA BOX
Casing: CORSAIR Carbide Spec-03
MotherBoard: ASUS H97-PRO-Gamer i5 4690
Graphic Card: ASUS GTX760 Striker Platinum 4GB or Asus GTX 770 2GB DCUII DDR5 or ASUS R9 280X DCU-II TOP 3GB?
Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper101 x 2
Power Supply: ?

P.S. I need help on the type of power supply as well as i do not know how much power is required for the rig! :D

Lololol. In before #asusrmaimba #asuspayxtra fans come in. Anyway, quite a few forumers will come in to talk abt your choice of gpus. More importantly, what do you use your rig for?? Haha.

1) You do not need 16GB RAM unless you do video/photo editing. Get 2X 4GB RAM instead.

2) Must your GPU be Asus? R9 290 from competiting brands are being sold at much cheaper prices than that ASUS GTX760 Striker Platinum 4GB and offers significantly better performance to boot.(If you can still find one with a non-reference cooler.)

3) Must your motherboard be from Asus? B85 motherboards from other brands will suit your needs better, are just as reliable and are significantly cheaper.

4) Are you sure about using Windows 8? The OS interface is more suited for touchscreens and you may not like it.

5) You do not need an aftermarket cooler if you are not overclocking. Dump that Hyper101 and use that money for something else. Intel stock coolers will work just as fine.

6) Go for a Superflower HX 600M for your PSU.

From HWC main page, Asus is "The world’s best-selling and most award winning motherboards maker." Anything that Asus does is magic and godlike.

Did you know using an Asus motherboard paired with an Asus graphics card together with an Asus monitor secretly unlocks a hidden encrypted instruction set which gives the user a boost of 20fps in any PC game released from 2012 onwards?

That's why Asus have a 10-30% premium in pricing. They need that premium to compensate for the 20fps boost they have set aside in their products.

Don't buy DVD Drive, get portable ones to share among various devices.
Why you all like blink blink in the CPU case ah?
The photons generated by the lights can strike the semi conductor and make the electrons go faster?
Value RAM good enough.

Erm.. hahaha we have made some jokes here with regards to a few of your choices because you have a limited budget and we feel that the money for some components should be better spent elsewhere. Now jokes aside..

Your mobo is a H97 board and will only run your rams at 1600Mhz max. So you can buy rams @1600Mhz with almost no reduction in performance unless you tell me that you can see the difference in magnitude of 0.00x s (milliseconds lol). You do not need a 16gb ram set if you are not doing video rendering stuff/running scientific calculations. There is also no performance drop when you lower your 16gb to an 8gb set. The 8gb is definitely more than enough in your case.

GPUs- do look at other brands of the same variant as they offer similar performances at a better value. As for PSU, just go for a 500w-650w gold efficiency type (brands chk out other threads) which will be more than enough for a single gpu system. The extra money saved can be pumped into a higher capacity ssd and/or go for a higher end gpu. Personally, I do not like to pinpoint which brands are good/bad as it is very subjective according to each individual. Cheers.

All this dont come cheap and will be over your stated budget.

It is wiser for you to reallocate your budget into other brands in order to have a better value and performance.

MSI B85 G43 Gaming + i5-4460 ~ $383
Avexir Core Series 1600mhz 2x4gb kit RED LED ~ $129
WD Blue 1tb ~ $67
Crucial mx100 256gb ~ $155
MSI GTX780 3gb Twin Frozr Gaming ~ $715
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold Semi Modular PSU ~ $108
Sharkoon BD28 Red ~ $74
LG DVD Drive with Cyberlink Software ~ $21
Windows 8 64bit OEM ~ $120

Total ~ $1772. Buy at tradepac, DIY

However, since you are going for Dota 2 and mmorpg, a 780 is totally overkill.

You can drop to Powercolor r9 270 Turbo Duo at $257 and PSU 500w ~ $88.
