Need help in Rig - 3d rendering / office purpose

Hi Guys,

I need some helps on this.
Recently helping company to config one 3d rendering system.
Went down to Sim Lim and ask for reconfiguration.

Just keen to know whether is this good enough to do intense 3d rendering with vray included?

Overall pricing : $$1773

P.S: I notice about the latest SSD for C Drive. But is it really useful? Also I notice that sim lim square people are actually recommending Quadro as a graphic card for rendering / design purpose. Is it true?

Will it work well with other program like Adobe software / Autocad / sketch-up program?

Or is there any other good fig other than this?

My budget is around 1.9k - System + window 7 pro.

Appreciate anyone can give advice on this? Thanks.

If you are gonna set up for coy. Best is ask your coy to go thru proper channel and go thru corporate deals.

Get OEM PC type as they will have tech support for your coy. DIY is not a way to go for official use.

Better off asking your company to assign you as lead negotiator for engaging an OEM partner to spec-out new PCs in your office than getting DIY. DIY not suitable for corporate environments, especially when users need warranty service and support

Thanks guys for the advice.

Actually I check with my boss about it before I went to sim lim and he did ask someone to get the CPU but when i went to the store that he purchased, the guy don't seem to remember him...how ah?

And the spec i based on is actually given by him as well. Is it good enough if like say my boss don't really keen on those OEM PC type - He just keen to getting one at the moment since my understanding is that we are moving the place by next year so we might go for 'stand-alone' type of system first which we will transfer our document through email / thumbdrive.

I might have to check with him again since i just start my new work today..lol

Any further advice will be good. you mean those store that's also able to have a package that cater both system purchased and service (etc. networking / transfer data within company)

Also not sure am i the right person to talk to him...it's like 2nd day ask him to look for those OEM PC type...funny lei..lol

Autocad... do you need a i7?

I7 - I am using it for 3ds Max / Vray so I think it's should be powerful cos I might need a fast render machine and the given budget allow me to go for I7.

Plus I guess currently rendering - 16GB Ram should be more than enough right? Or does window 7 pro / 3ds max program able to handle more than 16GB, thought of getting 24GB (additional 8GB)

Currently only 3 designers, and i am included so i dont think he will be keen to get those OEM partner..but i know now abit OOT.

Just curious my current spec that i mentioned should be okay right?
Able to withstand at least 2 years of works?
