Hi, I am currently serving national service but I would like to make full use of my extra time to upgrade my skill set by obtaining a basic cert from ACCA, as I feel that this may help me in my future job endeavours. I would obtain this cert as a private candidate and I would appreciate it if you guys could help me in understanding more about the examinations and such 
1. How do I go about registering to take the exam? I went through the ACCA website in detail and I am still rather confused as to how can I register for the exam as a private candidate. I am wondering if some kind soul can give me a guide as to how to go through the process of obtaining the cert as a private candidate without attending private institutions such as Kaplan, etc, as I would like to purchase textbooks and self-study on my own.
2. If I would like to just obtain the most basic accounting cert/skill, can I just stop at the foundations? Is it enough, or should I follow through till the professional cert?
