Need help learning to build new PC

Hi guys, I am totally new to this pc building thing, so I was hoping to get some recommendations for parts for a new PC, and should I get them locally or online? Looking at a budget of about 1k, including monitor and peripherals (don't know if its possible?). Will only be using it for Dota, web-browsing and Youtube etc. Thanks!

For the best bang for bucks, you can try getting both online and from Sim Lim Square but you will have to self-assemble.

If you wish shop to assemble for you, you can go to a single shop and get all the parts from them.

My example will be for going to PC Themes at Sim Lim Square and get all the parts.


Total damage - $985

Whole system is from PCThemes.
Keyboard/Mouse and Monitor from Dynacore pricelist.

For Windows, just install Windows 10 by making a bootable installer. Can be downloaded from Microsoft website. You don't have to activate it. If you wish to activate it, you can get a key for few bucks on taobao.

Oh ya, I forgot about Headphones,

Get a Sennheiser HD600 - $539 and a Fiio E10K - $122.50

Total Damage, $1646.50

Ryzen 2200g includes vega 8 which is basically a noob graphics card which can play dota
So no need spend money buy graphic card if u only play dota

Suggest u get accessory (eg. keyboard, mouse, monitor) online to save some $$$ :) Also, get a bigger SSD if possible even though u just play DOTA

For dota i think 8gb of ram enough
Case can get some lousy $40-50 case to save money
And keybord mouse can buy those logitech cheap office one

Important for Vega 8 or 11 is MUST get dual-channel kit DDR4

A single stick means the Vega iGPU will run on single-channel mode. Still better than Intel's one but nowhere near the numbers shown in reviews (actually its exactly half usually)

Is trying to assemble the parts together too difficult for someone new?

If all parts working, youtube alot of video guide can follow. I'd say it will be harder if you get parts that are DOA(Dead on Arrival), then need to troubleshoot.
