Need help: liquid cooler clacking noise

Hi guys. I bought a MasterLiquid Pro 280 about a week ago. After a few days there was a lot of clacking noise from the cooling block. I just adjusting the pump/fan speeds and give it a few days but they problem didn't go away. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is the unit faulty and I should just get an exchange/refund?

For info, the two 140mm fans are connected to the CPU fan header using a provided 4-pin splitter, and the cooling block is connected to the OPT (optional?) CPU fan header. I tried having the pump run at maximum power or the default power, and the fans at quiet or normal mode, but all combinations still produce the clacking noise. Temperature-wise it's actually doing ok. I'm getting 30~35C during idle and <70C during gaming.

I'd suggest you RMA that cooler. Could be something loose inside the pump. May not have issue now, not so sure about near future.

I have two identical set. Both ASUS X99 and i7-5930 which produces about 140 watt of heat. One set is with a Cooler master water cool (140XL) and the other set is a Cooler master 212X air cool and I fix the second fan. Both work fine and no overheating,
You are running a i7-4790 which produces 88 watt of heat. You do not need the water cooler.
On the other hand, I do not know the heat produce when you over clock.
If you can measure different overclocking level and temperature, maybe I can work out the heat produce.
