Hi guys. I'm new to this.. i don't know which gaming laptop should i buy..

Is the Lenovo y410p the best gaming laptop for it's price range and laptop size out there?

I've seen the aftershock laptops.. it seems a bit expensive, and the specs are not as good as the y410p in terms of processor.. but the graphics card is better.

Can anyone recommend me a good gaming laptop ??

Really? Aftershock specs not as good as y410p? Better checkout the specs again.:s22:

As for "gaming", do take note of the GPU and cooling system rather than CPU.

Would the asus K451L be suitable for gaming as in like hearthstone, dota2 etc?

See the model like rather slim, will easily have heat issues?

Msi ge40. Around same price as y410p and slightly lighter. The y410p cooling is quite good also. I ran msi kombuster burn test + intel xtu cpu stress test. Even though the cpu was unable to maintain turbo, it and the gpu didn't trottle.

aftershock 13.3" base model with os is $100+ more than the y410p. furthermore u go malaysia buy the lenovo only like $1250-1300. Nothing can compare with it at that price.

I'm no expert in computer. The only advise that i'm able to give you is dota 2 doesn't need a very high end GPU, so k451 will have no problem running it. Heat issue, you really have to ask someone who owns it. Not so sure about hearthstone either.

I use an Asus N55S a while back for entertainment and gaming. Last me for only 1.5 years due to intensive gaming. At one point of time the temperature shot up to 95-100 degree.:D:D

So there is a reason as to why they classify laptops between gaming/ multimedia and ultra. So if your sole purpose is for gaming, then look for a gaming laptop, so on and so forth. This is just my opinion though

Singapore's IT Fair prices don't even come close to the sheer amount of savings you make if you do your shopping in JB.

just a general idea for prices in Malaysia, can use it as a guide.

omg.. thanks.. cheap like siao.. but problem is Butterworth is in Penang or Ipoh.. a bit far for me. but i'll keep in mind the prices definetly.

if you dont want travel so far can just pay the extra 250 and buy at johor. seriously ah its not expensive and i reccomend buying from lenovo verified retailers instead of those weird website.
Also, the lenovo y410p is 2.25kg or 4.95 pounds. The 5.5 pounds specified on their website includes the ultrabay graphics which isnt sold here.

the jb prices are not far off. danga city mall is only a 10rm cab ride from the checkpoint. in fact they are lower than the prices in the flyers, because that is not their "best price".

the absolute best price anywhere in malaysia would be at lowyat plaza, where there are tons and tons of IT retailers competing directly with one another so their prices are abit more competitive. at danga city mall in jb from experience their "best price" would be about 100rm more than the "best price" at lowyat.

i managed to haggle my own laptop price down to within 50rm of what was quoted by a lowyat retailer. so it's really not that big of a difference.

hmm.. but it's a lot more expensive than the y410p..
MSI Notebooks GE40 Dragon Eyes PC SHOW 2013 Price List Brochure Flyer Image

check the above link.. it's $600 more expensive for some better specs.. WAY above budget liao.. my budget is around 1.4k - 1.5k max :s13::s13:
