Its a overkill??? :O
Its my first time and i just wanna build something big to last me for at least the next 5 years or so? I know in between the machine may have hiccups but i just need a better gaming PC..
I have a laptop running on Nvidia GT540M(which sucks really..) and intel quadcore processors. Guess what, it even overheats and shuts down.. TT But graphically, everything looks... Sloppy.
So!
I wanted to build one powerful pc so i can finally enjoy XD
The monitor could be anything.. Im satisfied with 1280 × 720 resolutions.
Im just looking for a good pc that runs good, does not overheat easily and good life expectancy i guess? :D

That is something you wont match if you are going for a high end rig. And furthermore wrong mindset that paying more = long lasting nor futureproofing.

Upgrading constantly is the key to futureproofing. Not paying more for uneccesary stuffs.

The things included in your rig is paying more for premium rather than performance. Few things have been a mistake.

1. CPU selection. Do you know what is the difference between an i5 and an i7? The difference between Hyperthreading and no Hyperthreading? Does game utilize hyperthreading?

2. Mobo selection. Although yes Asus mobo may be good etc. But its a premium you paying for the features that you might not even use worth the price paid for?

3. Graphics Card selection. At this time paying for a 780ti really sux. That price could land you 2x GTX970 which will outperform the 780ti in almost any games.

4. PSU selection. Wrong PSU selections, you need to research more into what kind of PSUs are good. Corsair GS series are not really a good PSU. Not say cannot buy, but a mediocre PSU to power up a expensive components just not gonna work. PSU is the heart of the PC and it should not be taken lightly for. Check out more on the PSU over johnnyguru reviews.

Lastly. What is your budget?

EDIT: Saw your Budget. And for the price of 1.8k is not gonna fit all those you have mentioned.

Firstly, thank you for the detailed reply! :D
Actually, im not really worried about future-proofing, i just want a high end rig where i can enjoy streaming and gaming.
I just read up on hyper-threading.. it makes a dual-core work like a quad-core by sharing workload right?
For the processor, after reading around, i think an i5 will suffice :D
For the mobo, please advise me on a good mobo that i could use on a high-end pc!
I have trouble finding a good mobo with only features i need..
I don't wish to overclock since it reduces lifespan even by a tiny bit..
I guess i'll need nvidia SLI support if im gonna have 2 GTX970! XDXD
For the PSU, my friend told me i only required a 600W PSU to power up a set up like this. I'm not too sure about how much Watts i need to run a system like that so i just put it in..
After lurking around youtube, watching how-to-build videos, the most common PSU i saw was Seasonic.
Is that good? Could u recommend me a better one to fit into my build? :D
Or perhaps, could you recommend me a build thats worth 1.8k?(If you have the time to do so! :D)

You are simply looking way too far for a 1.8k budget. Just go for a single GPU config and a 1080p display.

MSI H97 Gaming 3 + i5-4460 ~ $393
GSKills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb kit ~ $115
WD Blue 1tb ~ $68
Crucial mx100 256gb ~ $143 (after 10% discount using Mastercard on Monday at Lazada.sg)
Zotac GTX970 4gb Dual Fan ~ $404 (after 10% discount using Mastercard on Monday at Lazada.sg)
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold Semi Modular PSU ~ $98
Xigmatek Spirit ~ $98
LG DVD Drive ~ $21
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM ~ $115
Dell U2414H 24inch eIPS Panel ~ $340

Total ~ $1795. Buy at tradepac, DIY.

You have literally saved me tens of hundreds of thousands of hours trying to do this.
Thanks so much for your help!! I shall heed your advice on your recommended parts! I'll see how it works out when i get em :D
That chassis looks beautiful XOXO
Btw, can i change the hard drive to SSD instead? i have a portable hard drive at home already and i dont really play that many games( Planetside2, warframe, dota2, guildwars2, sc2 just to name a few) Is it recommended that i change to a ssd or a hard drive will do just fine?

Ah, i wanted to ask also, is windows 7 preferred over windows 8.1?
Yes, i've heard rumors about windows 8.1 being unstable ( and having my friend experience the pain of windows 8.1 interferring with his gaming.)

That will depends on what is your needs. For me i would love 8.1 ovr 7. Not because its new, but because of the windows live account merge and things like Hotmail being integrated as one.

You can use win7 if you prefer the more mainstream OS.
