Need help on computer start up issues.

Hi all,

Really would like to hear your feedback before i bring my CPU for a check.
I'm no computer expert or anything so forgive me if im sotong.

So what happened was this.
Normally, i would shut my computer down, followed by the main power switch.
Yesterday, I switched on the main power switch, but automatically i can hear my cpu running and the light on my cpu was lit, but normally it would only light up after i switch my computer on.
Puzzled, i proceeded by clicking the switch on my computer to turn it on. The sound from my cpu then became slightly louder like how it would sound like when its on, for 2 seconds (nothing appearing on my monitor) then suddenly it shuts off by itself. In another 2seconds, it switches on by itself again, but still, nothing on my monitor.
Tried to leave the main power off for hours and switching it on again and the same thing happens. Is it a problem with the power supply?

I dont recall my computer specs as its been a while since it was last built.
Please advise if there is anything i can try to fix this issue!

I just did the paper clip test, power supply no problem What else could be the issue?

Try reset the BIOS to default?
