need help on new desktop

Hi guys. i am seeking some help on which mobo (prefer gigabyte) n case to go with the following item which i recently purchase.


My desktop will be on the floor so it doesn't matter if it come with fancy lightning or not. but hopefully one with good airflow.

For CPU i don't intend to OC now but since the price isn't too much diff i guess i am going for 6600k in case sometime later i might OC.

the item i already purchase on9

zotac Gtx 1070 mini
FSP aurum S 80+ gold 650W
samsung evo ssd 250 ssd
HDD might reuse (since its just 6 month old)


i have around $1100 to spare on the remaining item . mobo/ram/case/windows

for purchasing of windows 10 key on reddit how many gb of flashdrive do i need ?

8gb thumbdrive is enough. Parts wise I'm no expert so cant comment.

What's the purpose of your com?
Do you plan to overclock?

Windows 10 get from carousell or reddit. Get a 8gb flash drive and mount the OS iso in it.

will wanna OC sometime later

also, do you need a monitor with that budget? Seems more than sufficient. To get good airflow, can also try buying some Corsair SP fans for intake and exhaust. I have 3 as intake and 3 exhaust, seems more than fine and my 1070 runs <70deg most of the time.

For the case it look slightly wider than normal tower right? is there something like Cm storm enforcer.( the width // currently using).

so u mean that u want somthing smaller?

as for windows is kinda hard to say and u have to be risk taker somehow.

although most can claim that they got keys directly from MS themselves, but we will nv know

Ya the chassis is slightly wider to separate the psu with other parts to promote better airflow.

If it is not your taste then check out corsair spec 1/2/3. Those look like normal towers and resemble a little like the enforcer.

How legit is the windows? I'm not sure. Never buy before but legit enough to earn 200+ positive feedback with 0 neutral or negative. Lol

At Carousell. Just search Windows 10, scroll a bit and you will find them.

It may be wide but it's pretty good for airflow.

i know this post is 2 week old. but just wanna seek for some advice.

since my desktop still able to go on for my current work and games. should i wait awhile more for kaby release?

Wait for Ryzen/Kabylake.

AM4 should have longer socket compatibility with future CPUs if you factor that into costs incurred on upgrade cycles. They aren't too far away, see what both sides will offer before deciding.

If putting the case on the floor, look for cases where the on/off switch is at the top. Like fractal design r5.

Or can consider my case, FD midi r2.

But i kidda like the design s. Mainly because i wont be using more than 3 hdd and 2 ssd . So it actually leave alot of room without the hdd cage. thanks !

You can look at fractal design's new define C series too. It's shorter (length), psu stroud and have top dust filter.

Please do check if your cryorig R1 have mounting base for the new amd am4 and if it supports the Intel z270 chipset mobos.

intel have intel own socket, same goes to AMD as well. so u cant interchangeable.

if your cpu cooler is able to fit for skylake, same goes kabylake, as there are of the same socket.
