Need help on proxies

I would need help on creating proxies but I do not know much about it. Anyone is able to guide me ?

Particularly from a dedicated server

Why you cross post in multiple forums? Even in Programmer's Den can see your proxy thread.

There are many types of proxy. What do you want to achieve first, please clarify.
  1. To control Internet access and protect PC, laptops?
  2. To monitor traffic and requests to your servers?
  3. To hide your location or identity from the destination servers?

What protocol do you wish to use? HTTP, TCP, UDP?

Yeah i dont know which is more suited for my topic but would appreciate all help and experts' advice
