Need help regarding micro SD card.

Hi guys,

First of all, I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right forum.

I have a MicroSD card and suddenly it is not readable. I have important pictures that needs to be retrieved.

Is there any possible ways that i can actually retreive the data inside as it suddenly could not be read.

I've tried many devices but still not possible for the card to be read.

Have you tried recovery software like Sandisk Rescue Pro?

You will also need a good microSD card reader.

I have not tried it and i will be using my laptop's inbuilt card reader

If one removes the card while data is being written, the card will be corrupted, damaged resulting in data loss. So, always do a proper card ejection operation (unmount) before physically removing it from card reader slot. Slow is a virtue in this case.

Cannot be detected or can be detected but cannot read?

Sometimes could be the MicroSD golden contacts dirty.
Use an pencil eraser (not ink) to clean the contacts.
Clean up the residue using Isopropyl Alcohol ( available from pharmacy ).

What brand of MicroSD ?

Did you have a good antivirus app on your device? Malware may be the culprit too.

Try it on another device if possible. If the result is the same, good chance the card is a goner. It is also possible for the data to be lost. The NAND chip used in SD cards are usually very low grade, so may not be a reliable place to store critical data.

Yes. It's possible the cause is hardware related eg. motherboard, card reader issues. Or poor card insertion.
I'm surprised to hear that microSD card memory storage is not very reliable. Use them for my data backups. Never fail me so far.
